I am trying to rehab from my bad fall down a flight of stairs last summer. What works best for me is water aerobics. I enrolled in an arthritis class at the Y where the pool is outside - as are most pools here in Fl. However, it is so stormy this summer I hardly get a complete class. Monday we barely got in the pool before the thunder started and we had to get out. Today about 30 min into a 60 min class we had to stop. It's been this way most of the summer. If I'm very lucky I get one complete class a week. It's frustrating to get all into a swimsuit, get all slathered up in sunscreen, walk all the way over to the Y - about 1/4 mile -just to not get in the workout - except for the walk over & back.

You might think about us here in AZ.... 116 degree heat... we rarely swim outside during much of the day.... I would love some of that rain.... we have an extreme drought....

I guess I am saying that everyone has different conditions... we all have to adapt to where we live.

When you moved to the desert didn't you expect high heat and drought? It is , after all, a desert.

@151949....by the same logic.... when you moved to FL didnt you expect rain?

I wasnt complaining.... I was just stating that where we live we have different conditions and we have to deal with them....

I just posted that here in Northern Va it's been raining for so long ...... well....I think I found some green stuff growing between my toes (moss??).

I hate rain!  I never went to school or work when it rained....really...that's how much I hated it!  I just wanted to hibernate!

Right now it's pouring down raining!  My phone went off (making this awful sound of alert) telling me areas are flooding!

I feel so sorry for the poor little animals!  A tree (huge) just fell over next door to me.  It's going to take at least a week to clean it up but at least it didn't fall on anything but the lawn.  Came up right out of the ground...roots and all, just like someone cut a square around it!

My poor cat (Katie) is so afraid of thunder!  Right now it's thundering and lightning like crazy!

So tired of the rain.  My daughter visited from Denver this weekend.  She loves rain, always has.  She said she forgot how beautiful it is here where she was born (so green and beautiful trees and flowers), but she still loves Colorado (no chance of moving back home).

Anyway, I've stopped watching the weather, I don't want to hear about more rain every single morning and night!

For weeks Northeast couldn't buy a rain drop - yellow lawns and cement soil.  Now last 4 days downpours day and night.  Beautiful garden of pink Bubble Gum petunias now look like nothing but green vines.  Another storm warning for tonight.  Raining now - straight down streams.

If you can't be in the water because of thunder, you shouldn't be walking home in it either.

@151949  Believe it or not, we here in the Seattle area COULD USE SOME RAIN, it has been unusually dry the past several months....and right now we are having a heat wave for us....the 90’s for about a week.....can not imagine hotter! When I hear people having 114 degree heat.....OMG,
