when i hear that  -  "wait for it......"   somehow i have a negative reaction.  don't know why -  but this expression makes me want to do the opposite. thanks for listening.

That one does not bother me so much as someone trying to tell me it is the very last time they will do something and we better jump right in to buy, one or even more.  When they make the sale URGENT I am turned off.

Looking at holiday recipes and the step by step of a Pumpkin Pecan Cobbler had this in their description.  Could not resist sharing.

You see? Puffy magic cake with…..wait for it……

Pumpkin Pecan Cobbler...cake on the top, hot caramel sauce on the bottom!! Fall dessert central.

Sweet pumpkin lava gooeyness!!!!!! Heaven, folks.

I have the same reaction. It seems akmost rude to me. I feel like i'm being ordered to wait and my first thought is usually, "why should I".

ITA!  It's so overworked, like many other phrases, that it means nothing.  English is a beautiful, comprehensive language, with many ways to say thingsinstead of resorting to cliches.

I have a short attention span and tend to bail on videos or jokes that are a little long. I'm rarely disappointed in the outcome if I "wait for it"!
