Yes, I cancel some items, but sometimes it's necessary, especially if I've reconsidered or I've neglected to read the reviews, go there and am appalled at the reviews. So I cancel. I thought that's what it was for....
Now, the time between ordering and allowing us to cancel has really shortened. I had second thoughts about a recent purchase and went in to try and cancel a couple of hours after the order and it said, "Sorry Your Order is in the Process of Shipping and there cannot be canceled." Ok so I'll have to see if this item works for me when it arrives.... thinking that it had shipped shortly after that, but it's taken 3-4 days after that to even ship!! What is up with that? A ploy to stop customers from canceling orders? Probably.... I mean, honestly.... it's in the process of shipping within a couple of hours but doesn't ship for DAYS?

I think it has a lot to do with exactly what kind of processing has started. While some things seem to ship right away others take over a week. I've successfully canceled something that still wasn't shipped after almost a week recently. I'm not always willing to wait that long as it takes a week to ten days to get here as it is.
I've done the same on Amazon, although I've had several items miraculously say shipped as soon as I try to cancel. I try and buy stuff that's included in Prime, they are so much more reliable.

The time to think about the purchaase and make the decisioh is BEFORE making the purchase -- not after. Very few companies allow you to cancel the order once it is placed.
In many cases with QVC, if the order is being shipped from thei supplier (i.e. drop shipped), the orders are transmitted to the vendor once the customer places the order. This is an automated process that cannot be cancelled.
Many things are now automated. I do not know why so many people seem to think there is an army of peole waiting around to see if customers are truly serious about the order before packing it and shipping it.
Take some responsibility for one's actions for crying out loud.

It's a phony designation "already in process". If they don't want to allow cancellations then just say that. No cancellations. Enough with the phony baloney.

I like a clothing line called LOGO. There is a one-hour show of it on Monday nights and often the items sell out within moments. Therefore, I have to decide very, very quickly before my size is gone (and often never to come back into stock once sold out) whether to order or not. So, I order and sometimes upon further reflection about what I already have in my wardrobe or why the item might not work for me, or just thinking a little more about it, within a half an hour I'd like to cancel it.
Apparently according to you that makes me irresponsible for crying out loud.

So, you've never changed your mind?
Kudos to you!!

Well, I rodered something and canceled it within the hour. The status read 'CANCELED'.
Three days later the order read 'SHIPPED'. Has happened three times. With this company and technology, you just can't win. I have to ship back but let them know they are paying for all the return and S&H.

The point is- we previously were able to cancel ANYTIME during the 'in process' stage of our order. Now that's changed and we don't find out until we attempt it. I think Q needs to modify their verbage during the stages of the order process. I even get the link to 'cancel' and then am unable to!!!
This is not about whether we take responsibility or not... [rolling eyes emoticon]

Wow, I haven't had that happen. YET!
It seems that whenever Q changes technology on their end they don't test it enough for glitches like this! ![]()
