Neither these nor Proboards has been exactly scintillating in recent memory. Some of it's the holidays and a good bit of it has to do with the fact that anytime an interesting topic arises, it tends to get shut down. My biggest issue right now with Proboards is that an instant replay of QVC's boards was neither necessary nor desirable. In recent memory, several viable discussions were shut down for the same reasons they would have been shut down here. Really, who needed another set of bland and insipid 'pablum' boards, where only the like minded can speak freely? Moreover, if there are problems with discussions becoming too heated then, as noted, use the private messaging feature to call out those creating havoc, but don't shut down entire threads. Doing so punishes everybody and not just the poster creating undue conflict. Should discussion keep being cut off and interested and interesting posters keep opting out, there'll be a group of about twelve folks over there saying the same things and genuflecting to each other...

I haven't been on the other board, but what's the point of complaining on here if you don't like it? Don't go there! I never opened a Facebook account nor ever will. I'd like to keep some shred of privacy! I believe this board will disappear sooner rather than later.

there are thousands of complaints on these boards about things on and off of qvc. people can complain, praise, and comment. it isnt against the rules of posting and if and when it is, the mods take care of it.

I am actually glad that they have a section for The Royals. Therefore I can ignore the thread entirely. It can be pretty spiteful and hateful here whenever the subject is brought up, so I choose to ignore the perpeptually unhappy.

Yeah, I also avoid that topic now. Every time H&M are brought up, the haters come out in volume. We ALL know who they are but they still need to advise the rest of us (and some MANY times in the same thread) how bad H&M treated the Royal Family and how hurt the Queen is about them.

Yes, the Queen certainly seems like someone who shares her personal feelings with commoners.

My hat goes off to you @JamandBread for your patience in the Royals forum. I posted once and never again. Your ability to stay reasonable and calm, considering the attacks you've endured for your point of view, proves your ability to listen to both sides of the subject matter and remain posting.

Oh brother. I'm not sure we've been reading the same posts, but whatever...

I have gone out of my way to understand your opinion and remain kind.

I can see that is not reciprocated, which is fine. I can also see you lack an empathy chip, though I don't regret giving you the benefit of the doubt,

Thanks for coming out. Much appreciated.

Again, I'm not sure we're reading the same threads... More than perhaps any other poster with a perspective different from your own I have tried several times to bridge the gap between points of view and I have also reached out with kind words for you at times, which you have at times reciprocated. Here, however, is where the tire hits the road and where true colors come through loud and clear. Here you are judging yet again.

Give me the benefit of the doubt or not, why would it concern me either way? My empathy chip is firmly intact, but it does see reason and is influenced by more than a single variable.

Let's be real here. You have repeatedly come onto those threads with the same agenda, suggesting hate and other ugly motives, which quite clearly seem a preoccupation, and though you have repeatedly been told you're wrong, still you persist in rabble rousing. Others then fall for it, they engage, the threads turn sour and are closed.

@stevieb I couldn't have said it better myself!

It seems to me that a Dead Board is one in which the morbidity of another board is a frequent topic.

I enjoy the opportunity of having a Royal thread. What is difficult to understand is two supposed adults hammering away at one another expressing their differing views again, and again, and again, until they shut down a post. Once each has tossed in the word hate once or twice - point made.  Why not move on?

Re: "Dead" forums

[ Edited ]

Interested in a forum where you can discuss politics, religion, covid, trials, people or any other subject without the subject being forbidden or restricted?

Go to proboards.com, create an account then click on create a forum.  You then get to discuss anything and everything without repercussions.

Problem solved.

@Drythe

Because some just need to make sure others know exactly what they're thinking, time and time and time and time again.
