~ question about my cat ~

Hi .... I have a dog and 2 cats .... a red Abyssinian and a white Turkish Van. The Abby is almost 12 so I know she's getting up there. I keep them in the spare bedroom and bathroom overnight because they walk all over me at night and it's impossible to sleep. Last night when I walked by the door, I smelled the "distinct" odor of cat poo. I went in and OMG, Amber (the Abby) had done a big poop in the liter pan (she NEVER covers it) and also a pile on the floor aside of the pan. The smell was awful. So I went about cleaning it up, used bleach on the floor and then everything was fine. I just started using Feline Pine because it keeps the smell down really well. Could she possibly not like it? Or is it because she's getting older? do you think mixing half Feline Pine with regular liter would help?

Any input would be helpful. Thanks much.
