question about entertaining

how would you feel if you knew someone who invited friends to their home but when they got there they weren't actually invited in but directed to their basement room that was kind of messy and a place where the family kind of hangs out just to play with their games, like pool table and other stuff like that. would you feel slighted or honored that they let you in their basement?
