Re: possible Ebola case...my local news

ABC national news reported tonight that this outbreak of Ebola in Africa has sickened more than 6000 people (close to 7000 if I recall), and about 3000 died. That puts the mortality rate at 50 percent. That info is from the head of the CDC.

Re: possible Ebola case...my local news

Speaking of flu shots, my SIL has worked in nursing homes for many years and now works in a hospice setting and she has NEVER gotten a flu shot.

I was shocked that working in those places that she was not required to get them.

She has a BS in nursing and actually believes that she can get the flu from the shot.

Well, this past winter, she got the flu and was SO sick she could barely get out of bed and was off of work for over a month.

She now says she's going to take the flu shot this year.

Frenzy is what causes hysteria. And I've seen several posts that say there isn't any frenzy. How does that further the discussion? Or is it only when one comments on what one sees as frenzy that doesn't further the discussion?

Excellent question and observation.

One thing this illustrates is that we are a global community, like it or not.

When there is something like Ebola out there, we need to put American money and effort into treatment and vaccines, because in time it will come here.

Bill Gates just said he thinks we will get on top of Ebola in the next 60 DAYS. I hope he's right. I think he has insider info, he just gave 50 million to make that happen.

Well many who run the show say Earth is overpopulated. So, there you go. (Along with the other 50%).{#emotions_dlg.scared}

Have you ever really looked at his research, I mean, dig into it? Just wondering.

And you?

Because I think Bill Gates might have a few more resources than you, me or anyone one this board and very likely even more than all of us combined.

Bill Gates isn't doing the research.

Re: possible Ebola case...my local news

Um - just to clarify - I didn't say that the type of enterovirus going around right now causes polio. I said it was related to polio, which it is, and yes, the one going around now is respiratory.

I don't know where it's coming from that the classification of the enterovirus going around NOW causes polio - but it didn't come from my post.
