Yes, it is indeed frenzy. More people are killed in this country each year from a variety of other causes. Yet, no one wants to ban cars. No one wants to forcefully quarantine anyone with the flu. The fear of Ebola is way out of proportion.

I am getting dizzy from going back and forth to these to threads! I must be in a frenzy I tell ya!

Trying to prevent citizens from returning to this country and denying them their rights is indeed frenzy.
In your opinion. If, as I said earlier, this continues to happen with any regularity or larger number they may have to initiate a period of quarantine for those returning from affected areas. That's frenzied imo also. We are not going to prevent American citizens from reentering this country just because they were in west Africa. Or even if they're infected.
Well ,it is only your opinion. If more and more people come here already infected with the virus, they may have to undergo a period of quarantine. I am NOT saying we need to do that now. I am not saying not allow them back into the country. I am saying that we don't know what the future holds and worst case scenario they may have to do that.
It is a discussion. Not a mandate.
No frenzy here.

There has been a paralysis associated with the current outbreak. I have not seen it called polio. My guess would be more like Guiallume-Barre (sp)Guillain Barre is an auto-immune disorder most commonly associated with certain infections and surgeries.
Polio is a type of enterovirus. This strain that is affecting kids is another strain of enterovirus.
I know what Guillain Barre is. To what do you attribute the apparent connection between this enterovirus and the paralysis?

I'm pretty sure it's the opinion of the American Constitution.
The Americans coming home with Ebola were already put in quarantine. That's not the same as not letting them back into the country. That's standard medical practice for serious contagious disease.

And who will pay for this?
I'm not willing to take on the burden in additional taxes from placing Americans in quarantine because none of it will be covered by insurance. Or the responsibility of covering the expense of paying for legal defense of our government against litigation because of such a decision.

Accusing people of being in a frenzy has done nothing to further this discussion. It is not frenzied to suggest that there could be a problem.
What really is irritating is to know that the next time this comes up anyone who expressed any concern will be tarred with the frenzy brush.
I am not in a frenzy. I don't advocate putting people in camps. It is too bad people cannot express concern without being labeled with a word that insinuates they are out of control. Not nice.
I'm done here.

I don't think anyone said you were in a frenzy, but that does not hold true for everyone.
And you were not the one advocating not allowing Americans back into this country.

I would attribute the paralysis to infection with the causative agent of Enterovirus 68.

Frenzy is what causes hysteria. And I've seen several posts that say there isn't any frenzy. How does that further the discussion? Or is it only when one comments on what one sees as frenzy that doesn't further the discussion?
