Hi HiLo,
i tried to reply under my original thread to you but kept getting error ocurrence, so here is my reply my friend.
actually the first christian religion was comprised of Christ's believers and his followers. these were Jews who became the first Christians. The Orthodox and Catholic Churches were one and the same until they separated from one another in 1054 mainly over the role of the Pope.

There are very few theological differences. The main difference is that the Orthodox Churches use the Byzantine Rite and the Catholic Church use the Roman or Latin Rite.

Pope John Paul II said of the Orthodox Churches in Orientale Lumen, "A particularly close link already binds us. We have almost everything in common." as for orthodox being the first christian religion that is not correct.

Armenian and Greek Orthodox share the same religion, but there are different similarities between them HiLo.
i agree and bless you too my friend and Yes, He is risen!i also wish you joyous Easter holidays.
we as believers will rise too one day and be reunited with our loved ones, and bless you too in your widowhood HiLo the reunions we will hopefully have when we enter God's Heavenly Kingdom will be glorious, with eternal life everlasting, and that thought brings peace and joy into my soul.

I have studied so many faiths but not the Greek Orthodox tradition. I would love to know more so I think I will make this my next religious study.

My daughter-in-law's family is Armenian; I think their beliefs are much alike? They tell me the Orthodox was the first Christian religion.

Yes, He is risen! I always try to keep my mind on the fact that since He has risen, we as believers will rise too one day and be reunited with our loved ones, QVC. I too am a widow with a blessed hope in Christ. May God bless you, dear.
