I thnk I 'get' now what we're seeing in your avatar -- it's an inscribed hockey puck. Sadly, though, on my monitor, it looks all the world like a masked face.

I don't understand everyone's consternation over losing their posting statistics. I've actually seen anger expressed over losing what they took as a badge of honor for all the effort they had expended composing helpful and enlightening posts. ?!?!

Before the re-formatting my posts were approaching 2,000 and I was feeling embarrassment by it. To me, it denoted someone who had frittered away entirely too much time online.

Thank you for your concern. I have always had my e-mail address visible, except for times it was not allowed and the Moderators would remove it from my profile.

I looked over and checked the things I have no problem being accessed by others. I've made many close cyber-friends via my e-mail that I would not have made were my address not visible.

I am not the least concerned about this as I know that anyone that is computer savvy and wants that info? They probably already have it. Lots of "hackers" out there, but I think they use their wares on much bigger targets than my e-mail.
