I saw on the news that the winning ticket was sold in the Chicago suburbs. Perhaps it was purchased by Oprah? ?

I heard that they will walk away with $246 million dollars.

I could do so much with that money.

1. buy a nice house. nothing fancy or "McMansion", but a nice, decent house

2. donate to my favorite animal charities

3. bank the rest

Darn.  I heard there was no winner Tuesday and was going to buy a couple tickets.  Congratulations to the winner.

Oprah hasn't lived in Chicago for years! She lives in California and doesn't need the money!

It could be a syndicate of workers or have they said it's a single person?

I always hope, when the jackpot is that big, that it's a group who will split it, helping more than one person.  (Oh, of course, unless it's me who holds the winning ticket!  Woman Wink )

If I won a huge jackpot, I have several family members that I'd immediately bail out of their mortgages and make sure they were comfortable for life.  I couldn't have that much money and see any of my family struggling to pay the bills.

I live the next suburb over from Palos Heights. There are three suburbs running from North to South: Palos Hills, Palos Heights and Palos Park.

The ticket was purchased at Nicky's Ribs.  It is owned by two Greek brothers who went to the Greek school down the street from me.  They will get $500,000.

The restaurant is in an upper middle class area at a busy intersection with a strip mall on one corner and kitty-corner is a Jewel Food store, a Wendy's and a few other businesses.

It was a pleasant surprise to see the area I live in all over the local and national news.

After tonight, there may be another winner from the area - ME!
