Didn't know what to list this under.. I want people to be aware that lock N lock will break. This happened to me. I had a tall square container and I filled it with my cereal. It fell off the counter and broke down the side and across the wider side. The lid is fine. Recently, I put a lock and lock container in the microwave, knowing that it can go in there but don't lock down the lid.. I didn't. I just sat it on the top to keep it from spattering. It was a round bowl, but after two minutes I looked in the microwave, and it was a sort of diamond shape.. The lid was fine though..Seems somehow a suction was formed . The bowl is now unusable. So be aware your product will break down the seam sides and they might get misshapen in the microvave, so be sure to check that the lid is extra loose.

I don't put any type of plastic in the microwave. Some studies have shown it can get in or on the food, I don't want to chance it.

I have known L&L can break but will say I've had a lot of it for years and the only mishap I've had was when one of the tabs broke off. No other damage.

I only use glass in the microwave and even then I keep a look out to make sure it doesn't get too super hot.

The lock n lock lady says to INVERT the lid on the to if using the microwave-I learned the hard way like you, where even though not locked, suction was formed- Oh and yes, they WILL break if you drop them, especially if they are dropped out of the freezer! I have had many tabs break also...and yet I still buy it! go figure....

I use my lock n lock to store items, but I don't reheat food in them. I would imagine any kind of plastic would break if it hit the floor in just the right way. I'm sorry that happened to you.
