No more Walking Dead. GCI cable says AMC iis raing it's rates 200% which is too much. Are you losing AMC? The only thing I'll miss is some of the older movies.

Thankfully, cable companies are playing hardball with content providers. They can't continue raising rates as they have in the past - more people are cutting the cord. Of course the best thing is to have an ala carte menu but cable companies are resisting it.

I haven't lost AMC (yet) but have lost our local ABC channel on Dish due to a money dispute. Wish they would get it together and come to an agreement.

Dish network battled AMC and lost a few years ago. People left and got other providers to keep TWD on their TV's. They finally caved and showed all the lost episodes.

We've been with DirecTV for about 10 years now, and so far we've lost nothing. We've had a couple of short term down time on channels while they negotiated new contracts, but nothing long term. There is no way I would ever go back to cable television. You might try to contact DirecTV and see what they can offer you. Good luck.

there was an article in our paper about this topic, as people are leaving cable the rates for sports are going up, the fees being charged for a "service fee" for sports ****** are going up and you can't opt out of those,
Ticks me off b/c we just don't watch or GAF about sports.
Would love an option not to get any sports channels for less money.

My provider, Time Warner, has just raised their rates again { a yearly occurence } , so they better not be removing AMC ! I hate paying their rates, but they are the only game in town.

I have FIOS and all the movie channels. So far the only thing they dropped was the Weather Channel. FIOS had a hissy fight with them. But I've since heard that channel has been dropped by a lot of carriers.

About a year ago, Direct TV was dropping AMC too. Finally, they didn't, but we had to choose a higher priced plan to get AMC along with some sports channels that we never watch.
