how do you get a cat to leave your yard???

is there anything we can put in the area to make it not use it as it's personal litter box!!! omg - the smell when you go over near the corner of the house of the smell of urine will knock you off your feet in this heat!{#emotions_dlg.crying} i don't know whose cat it is and we have only seen it at night. but when we go out in the mornings/afternoon you can see where it has scratched up different spots in the pinestraw for it's personal bathroom time!
