how Subway is doing with their new menu

We have one near us, so I decided to try one of the new kind of subs.  My husband and tried one earlier and he thought it was awful.  I don't know which one he tried.  Supposedly the best ones were the Italiano versions.  Here they are.  The worst were supposed to be the club series.  I didn't know which one to choose so I got the Supreme Meats.  It was pretty good.  Unusually tasty for Subway.  Little salty but nice.  The meats were very good.   Subway was in trouble for a while.  They closed many stores and revamped the menu. While Subway’s same-store sales rose 7.4% after the launch of the Subway Series, they rose “more than 12%” for the top 15,000 restaurants, or 75% of the chain's more than 20,000 locations. So they are doing well.  I prefer getting subs in restaurants.  But Subway is OK on occasion.  Anyone try any of the new menu?

  • Cheesesteaks: #1 The Philly, #2 The Outlaw, #3 The Monster.
  • Italianos: #4 Supreme Meats, #5 Bella Mozza, #6 The Boss.
  • Chicken: #7 The MexiCali, #8 The Great Garlic, #9 The Champ.
  • Clubs: #10 All-American Club, #11 Subway Club, #12 Turkey Cali Club.

Re: how Subway is doing with their new menu

Last 2 times , tried Subway for  quick sandwiches to take in a cooler for a day swimming  , they were  essentailly nothing but bread . Waste of money . Those commericials where big name atletes are promoting subway are  just paid liars , as the sandwiches  are not as they used to be  since they have become extremely skimpy .

@Group 5 minus 1 Yes, the Subway near me has a few Vegan and Vegetarian choices.

I went into a Subway about 15 years ago to buy a gift card.  I do not believe I have ever had their food.  Some of the youtubers I follow were going through the list of them and it was just an o.k. for most of the reviews.  Most thought all the other sandwich shops out there were much better.

My husband and I used to really like Subway, and would eat there maybe once a month, but no more!!!!

The last few times their subs were horrible, and just didn't taste very good....I don't know if it is just the one near us, because I haven't tried other locations, but I will pass!!! My husband still likes their steak and cheese sub though.

Had Subway only once. All bread and they nuked their bread. Horrible.

worked in a deli as a kid  we dug a trench of the bread out for our meatball heros. mmmm i could finish one of those, with a pile of chips and a have an ice cream sundae and still be hungry.

Re: how Subway is doing with their new menu

I'm very partial to their meatballs on Italian bread with mozzarella cheese, toasted. Very melty and yummy. A foot long has 6 meatballs in it. I usually eat half and rewrap it. Toaster oven reheats the other half the next day, so I get lunch twice. Weekly circulars offer coupons for foot long at $4.99. So I get lunch for two days on a $5 expense.

Don't go there often, only with a coupon, and I only like their meatball & mozz.  Subway is not making much money from my patronage.

One of my friends goes to Subway quite a bit. He says he always orders 'double the meat' on his subs b/c he thinks they are skimpy on the meat with the regular orders.

Re: how Subway is doing with their new menu

I just picked up a Steak & cheese on Flatbread for lunch today.  I have limited choices for Lunch so I do frequent the local Subway once every week or two.

I've had the MexiCali sub a few times and liked it.  I think I've gotten the Garlic Chicken once and it was fine too.
