Hi cute, I know you have white vinyl and that it works well for you. We have a Mediterranean style house with the red tile roof, so white doesn't work for us. I'm glad you are having good success with the wrought iron. Almost all the houses I pass in our neighborhood have used that for their gates. Maybe it will come down to how much it costs compared to wood.

Issy, DD knows she will probably need shots in the future. That's how they manage wet MD, but we were grateful she didn't need one now. Don't know about your dream, but the "dreamy" buff guy hanging around could be your Mr. 6'2"....if not, he's making this old lady think interesting thoughts...

Hello, cute. Hope you have warmer weather today. It's in the 80s here with lots of sunshine. Am watching the Denim and Company show. Ordered a top and another pair of the pull on pants, this time in light aqua.

We haven't heard anything more from that painter. DD has a plan. I think if she doesn't hear by next week, she will look for someone else. We know those guys get busy on several jobs at a time and it's hard to balance everything, but we also want to have our house cared for. She watered the front lawn last night, but we may not be able to water anything outdoors because of the drought. It's a really hard thing to know that about 70% of out water is allowed to go out to the sea. The people who lobby for saving several kids of little fish have been successful in stopping the production of any new dams for decades. Some people just don't have their priorities straight. People matter more, IMO. Ok, I'll get off my soap box now.

It's almost the weekend again. Yeah.

Hey Snappy, love the colors for your house, especially the hunter green. My house has more of a pink cast with cream trim I also have some dark redwood stain around the front entrance. Hope that the contractor can get to the job soon.

Well, the bridal tea/shower was so beautiful. I am so glad that I went--my friend lives about 45 miles away from me. Anyway.......the tea was in her back yard that was terraced with beautiful trees/ferns/flowers and a babbling brook. There were 3 long tables, with a pink underskirt and a white lace table cloth on top. The china was pink, white and green with gold trim and gold flatware. We had tea, pink champagne and pink lemonade. The menu--savory scones, scones with nuts and raisins, lemon curd, jam, butter, endive stuffed with chicken curry salad, salmon sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, sandwiches with cream cheese, shrimp, tomatoes and dill, and tarts. The bride to be is a beautiful blonde who had on a really cute yellow lace dress with coral accessories.

The food table was set up inside, and very elegant with beautiful serving dishes and candles, etc. We didn't play the dreaded shower games--so relieved. I wore a salmon colored maxi dress with turquoise jewelry. I did get a lot of compliments on that outfit. We all received a lovely lace bag filled with various teas, and lavender bath salts. The weather was gorgeous, too. I had a wonderful time.

Hi Cute; good to see you here. I managed to pick up some super bargains on the jewelry clearance. Everything is going well in my neck of the woods; the weather is really beautiful here.

Issy, your house must be beautiful. Peaceful, and elegant. The redwood touches would give it a pop, IMO. No word yet from the contractor.

Your description of the bridal tea/shower makes it sound like another wonderful event. You travel in high class circles. I'm sure you looked gorgeous and everyone noticed. The bride to be must have been happy to be so honored. The food and the décor were right up there with your SIL's style. Yeah, no shower games. It just occurred to me to wonder if they are passé. Women are marrying later in life when those games just seem silly. Wonder if young women, say in their late teens or early twenties, still like them.

We are eager to get the house shored up and painted and choose new gates, so I really hope the man we saw comes through for us. Or maybe the Lord has someone better. I guess we could call the contractor who did the bathrooms, but he and his crew were also working several jobs at the same time.

Hello Snappy an Issy, an THANKS for the chat !!Yes Snappy i hear You about trying too get people too do things !! it sure is a busy World.. my SIL's Garage door fell off of the track, an she had her car out luckly when it happened, but she tried too get the person that built her garage an the installer of the door an low an behold they were busy fishing.. an it would be a week getting too it.. so I guess the fish were biting good.. so she was trying to find someone else.. too fix it.. her nephew usually does things for her but he had surgery on his shoulder,an could not fix it..

Today Snappy our Weather was in the 70's an Sunny an no / wind.. My Hubby has taken over My Job of Mowing !! Can You believe that !! as he has FRIDAY'S Off now an is Using that day for yard work here at home !! CAN YOU BELIEVE !! So I worked in the house !! an also in the yard !! Snappy your House sounds Neat also.. an yes I watched Denim an Co. also.. an I ordered the BERMUDA Shorts with BLING on them from QUACKER FACTORY !! an my goodness they were practically all SOLD / OUT so I got 2 pair that were left !! These our so cool, an not Heavy like some Fabrics.. i'm at the stage I do / not like Heavy BULKY Clothing.. an Denim an CO. is so COMFY also.. I live in clothes like that ALL summer long.. I'm hoping Snappy that YOU get the work, done an Yes your dd will know what too do.. yes some people have there PRIORITIES mixed up for sure.. an I like your SOAP / BOX..

Hi cute, sure hope by now your SIL found someone to fix her garage door! People advertise their businesses wanting customers, but then you call them and they come out to "see" and then you sometimes don't hear from them again. DD sent another text to the painter today asking if there's a date for the work to start. Hope they don't start and then leave us in the lurch. We called this man because he did work for my friend who does my taxes. She highly recommended him, so I guess if he does the work, we will like it.

WHAT??? Hubby is now doing the mowing? How do you feel about that? I know you always like to do it, and I see your pony tail flying in the wind.

Glad you got your Bermuda shorts with the bling. I received a pair of QF capris in the light denim. They have some sort of shiny rivets on the hem of the legs. They are very soft and short, just below the knee. Wore them one day this week. Susan is on now with some things. Nothing appeals to me at the moment, but then I have so much of her stuff already.

My sis just texted me a picture of a new sofa/love seat, chair and area rug in gray. She has bought it for her living room. The springs on her old one were coming up and poking her. She got her kitchen painted off white, including the cupboards. Hope DD can take me out there to see it in the summer.

You must like the warmer weather. It's in the mid 80s here today. Love to visit with you.

Hello Snappy an Yes my SIL got her Garage door fixed , but it sure took awhile an it took the guy.. 2 1/2 hours.. but she was so thank-ful to have it fixed as her car had too set out.. an he was fishing so she had too wait a few days.. when a person owns a house it's always something.. Hoping they get too your house to get the things done.. Yes Don't you love these pedal pushers !! an the more they our washed the better they our !! love this new material they our coming out with.. yes Susan Graver has nice items also , I love her tops.. YES Snappy CAN YOU Believe my Hubby took over my LAWN / MOWING.. Too be HONEST with you I miss it an I have my own way of Mowing !! YOU know what I mean, like KEEPING the Grass away from the house !! Keeping the Grass away from where " LUCKY " will be, so none of us track Grass in the House.. I am Such a Beast !! as I have my own / way of doing things BUT Snappy I kept MY Mouth Shut an I think if he is going too keep mowing he will catch on !! Dear cute, wish I could send you a trophy or something for keeping your mouth SHUT.Sometimes we just need to do that, but it's not easy. Maybe he will get tired of it so you can take over again. We all do have our own way of doing things and I get why you would want to keep the grass away from areas where you could track it into the house. Live and LEARN.

The painter sent an email to DD that maybe they can get around to us in 2 weeks or so. Sometimes I wonder about those guys. They are juggling so many jobs at once and everybody thinks theirs is the most important one. He was supposed to bring a man here last Friday to look at the gates and offer us some options for new ones, but that didn't happen.

Really glad your SIL has a working garage door now. It's hard to know how to find the right person.

Last night there was a big bad fire in the town where DS and DDIL live. She is a volunteer with the sheriff, so was called to help. They had to turn cars around so they wouldn't cross a bridge. I'm sure there is a lot of smoke out there. It reached as far as our house, but I didn't notice it. DD had her window open overnight and had to shut it. Made her cough. DS has breathing problems, so it no doubt bothered him. Guess it's all out now and the people who were evacuated were allowed to go home. Most people there have horses which complicates that process.

Hope your day is going well. It's beautiful here. We have the chance for rain during the middle of the week. That would be such a blessing. Take care.
