give a purse or ?

I have my SILs name for Christmas. At first I bought her some useful things. A Contigo travel tumbler (the no spill kind on QVC), a Turbie Twist, Peppermint Bark Philosophy Shower Gel (which I don't really think smells so great) and a canvas tote with red mittens on it (she works at a school) and some other little things. Then I started thinking maybe she won't like them, so I bought her a little Tignanello purse at the mall. It is gorgeous dark brown and was like 55.00. Which would you give? She is kind of a neat/tidy person. Doesn't buy what she doesn't really need I guess. I don't know I guess I am leaning toward the purse. Problem is I really like that purse....(wish I got my other SILs name-the one getting the pjs!).
