funky ice cubes

"I have a regular refrigerator, no ice dispensor on outside. I do not have a water filter or purifier and never had a problem with the taste. I was just told after giving a glass to a neighbor that the water tasted "bad" She is a cool person so this thread is not about manners. I think the problem was the ice cubes I had them in the freezer for quite a long time so maybe they picked up a weird taste. Actually it was kind of funny and now we have a running joke about it - How long has it been since you used your ice cubes?
