@kaydee50  Me too. I have worn glasses for about 52 years and have always done it this way.

I see a DIY recipe online: 3/4 container of rubbing alcohol, fill rest with water, add 2 drops dish soap and mix!

I make my own too.  I used to include rubbing alcohol, but read it wasn't actually good for the lenses.  So now it's just dish soap and water.

To dry the lenses, I use the little cloth from the optometrist.  But it has to be cleaned from time-to-time.  Otherwise, it leaves smears on the lenses.

Another vote for Dawn Powerwash, rinse and dry with a microfiber cleaning cloth.  I keep a microfiber cloth near my easy chair in case I need to clean off smudges from my glasses and the iPad screen using the microfiber cloth dry.  Obviously, launder the cloths.  I never liked the alcohol wipes or sprays, dish detergent is the best I've found to cut through skin oils and makeup smudges.  Paper towels are abrasive and will scratch plastic lenses.

War is not a video game others play to entertain us. “Gamifying” war strips away the humanity of real people and is a profound moral failure.

for daily cleaning I use either the little cloths they give you with your glasses or a soft microfiber cloth but at least once a week I use warm water abd gentle cleanser.  Rinse abd dry well with soft towel.  Our glasses are exposed to a lot so they should be washed.  When you bring them to your optometrist for adjustment, etc.m I will noticed that's how they clean them.

I have a small sprayer bottle of inexpensive vodka, which I use to clean all of my eyeglasses.

Works like a charm!  No problem re: prescription eyeglasses, although I don't opt for any coatings on any of my eyeglasses.

Windows, mirrors, etc.

It's better to use cloth or microfiber cloth as the fibers in paper towels or tissue can scratch your lenses. I used to work in the pulp and paper industry.

Re: eye glass cleaner

[ Edited ]

I was told to never use paper towel, Kleenex, or random fabrics to clean eyeglasses, only the approved cloth and spray.  I have picked up the packaged wet eyeglass wipes though.  Sometimes they work, sometimes they just smear stuff around.

I just tried a "puppy fur" Campanelli cloth and it worked like a charm.  I'm going to keep one in my purse and one where I sit during the day.

Thank for the tip! 🤓

I use reading glasses that started out at 0.75, so I have gone to the same optometrist forever. I used to use Puffs without lotion.

He told me not to use Puffs or paper towels. They have wood fibers that can damage the lens. He told me to use toilet paper with a drop of Dawn. So that's what I do - TP, with or without Dawn.  Smiley Happy
