2 different sellers, 2 different packages.
both show delivered yesterday according to the tracking on ebay.
not sure if they were insured, but i will double check with the sellers. one was worth about $50 one was worth about $80.
i have looked everywhere that usps usually leaves my packages.
yes, i was home all day.
we received absolutely NO mail at all yesterday.....no bills, no junk, no packages. i had mailed to be picked up in my mailbox, with the flag up, and it was not taken.
so, two days, no showing on the packages. still hoping they show up, but who knows at this point.
i will file a claim through usps, but wanted to know if it was my responsibility or the sellers..... or both. i dont want to pay for something i did not receive and i am guessing if i did not receive it then the money goes back to the seller, who in turn refunds me? with the usps being the way it is these days, i dont want this to drag on. i know that if i dont receive a package from qvc (even if it is showing as delivered), they either send me a new item or refund me. of course, they are a big company and the sellers on ebay may be much smaller.

Had this happen to me and the seller is totally off the hook. Ebay will do nothing. Some unscrupulous sellers were sending envelopes or small empty packages to show delivery. I quit buying from Ebay. Post office should be contacted but have to do so right away.

When you file a claim with USPS for a package they show delivered, but you did not receive, the USPS will reimburse you directly, but you'll be asked to provide USPS for a receipt showing the price of the item (minus tax or shipping fees).
They will only reimburse you for the item's actual cost, nothing else..

That is not true. eBay has a money back guarantee.

@sunshine45 "according to the tracking on ebay."
What does the USPS tracking site show?

USPS use GPS so they can find exactly where it was delivered. Had this happened last week and the mail person brought it back the following day.

About ten years ago I bought a handcrafted kokopelli from Ebay and had it sent to my P.O.box. Got a notice from Ebay that it was in my box but it wasn't there. Turned out it was placed in a box near mine (wish I knew which). I went to Postmaster who acknowledged that someone had turned in yellow card and claimed my package. Post office wouldn't acknowledge that they and the thief were to blame. I filed with Pay Pal and I lost ( I was out about $80). Only time in 15 years ( over 1000 purchases that I was out $). Several months later I was in Gallup and found a similar Kokopelli, negotiated a great price, so I filed the whole thing under " lessons learned ".

I think I got you all beat. Many years ago we ordered a small part for our washing machine and it had apparently been shipped in a very small envelope with a tracking number on it and one could plainly see that we never got it including the seller too could see that. Despite contacting him on 2 separate occasions he never responded and the post office never found it. Because this vendor was the only one selling the exact part we needed we didn't protest knowing that we would have to order again from him to fix our machine and the price was low, less than $10 although shipping was not free. So, we didn't pursue a refund from him or ebay and just ordered it again and that is how we found out it was sent in a tiny envelope with a tracking number as we did receive it the second time. As far as doing business with him ever again that is doubtful. We would have appreciated an acknowledgment at least, that he knew we never received it.

@SilleeMee It is absolutely true. Their moneyback guarantee does not cover items shown as delivered. I tried to pursue it with them and was told - too bad! Take it up with the Post Office - not the seller's problem.
ETA: Also, Ebay will not let you leave negative feedback when you do not receive your item.
