I had a friend who said he got a "C" in a course called "Personal Development". I fell out laughing and he finally saw the joke.
There is a writer of mediocre mystery stories staring a nun. The author actually includes a list (fairly long) of "discussion questions" at the end of the story.
Who appoints these people to these instructional roles? What do you suppose their credentials are? Are they certified by someone (something) that makes them think they are qualified to preach to others?
I think it is mega-creepy.
@excpa No one is claiming to be a professional although there may be a few w/ credentials. Those that come here asking for help, are in need of "feedback" or suggestions. They want to bounce ideas off people who can be unbiased because they are invisible.
It's certainly up to the person asking for advice to take it or leave it.
NEVER take anonymous internet credentials seriously. Never, ever, ever.
As far as books are concerned, some book clubs like those discussion questions.

Definitely not. I have seen a few that are legit, but most of them are the constant complainers or the poor little me or just wanting us to agree with or praise them. I skip their posts.

To answer the op's question, "Heck no!"

@excpa,Is this question because of your post about walmart? I thought the post someone made to you, would had upset me.

@goldensrbest Yes. Thank you for noticing.

No, I've lived 62 years making solid decisions about my life. I'm happy, content, and hate drama; I have no complaints or issues to start a post about.
I come here out of curiosity of how others live their lives. I try to be helpful and share experiences of what I know has worked. Sometimes I just shake my head at what I read.

Good heavens, NO! Although there certainly are plenty of posters ready to spring into action at a moments notice to let others know that if you're not doing any and everything their way, you're wrong. I always wonder what kind of reaction they get when (if) they do that to people in their "real" life.

If you think it smells, leave it where you find it.
What a great response!
There are posters that come here for advice that should be left to professionals.
Lucky for us there are a few board participants that are experts in all subjects. (◔_◔)

Yes! It's the first place I log onto in the morning. Every morning.
And I've learned so much from the lovely posters here.
I've now changed so much in my life, I changed parties, I know which news channel NOT to watch.
I can easily slay the qvc hosts without wincing.
I no longer wear nude lipstick and chopped my hair off short.
And I ride a bike that charges my computer, so I don't have to use (dirty) electricity to power it up.
