It is not a high crime area other than it is close to downtown...which makes it a bit more dangerous, they have been building thousands of apartments in the area....very high density. I would never want to deal with the parking garages there on a daily basis.

Re: dallas: botham jeans neighbor shot to death

So much mis-information already being dispersed.

Jean family lawyer immediately tweeted out last night Brown was

shot in the mouth & chest.

-Not True

Brown's mother immediately was quoted that her son had

no known enemies.

-Not True

There were reports he was shot in the buttocks & side, but that is

unconfirmed. But what is confirmed is not mouth/chest.

Autopsy reports will come later.

Joshua Brown was involved with a shooting last November

at a strip club here in Dallas. Joshua & a friend got into a fight

with the shooter & friend.  Joshua was shot in the foot but

his friend was killed.  That shooter is out on bond.

*********

Kendall Deshonn Morris has been indicted on a charge of murder and

an aggravated assault in connection with the incident.

He is currently out on bond.

Jean Family Lawyer stated,

"Brown lived in constant fear that he could be the next victim of

gun violence, either state sanctioned or otherwise."

That makes sense since he was shot last November & his shooter

is out on bond.  Maybe Brown was being called to testify for

the trial of HIS shooter, Kendall Deshonn Morris...??

Re: dallas: botham jeans neighbor shot to death

@sidsmom  Is anyone besides you talking about the strip club fight?  I haven’t heard it. I guess the mysterious shooting of a “star witness”...really?  was he referred to that way during the trial?...is a better story than the other.  Hopefully the police are at least looking for that Morris guy and questioning him and his associates.

So sorry for Mr. Brown. He had a fear his life would end like it did (victim of gun violence)...before the trial started.

@esmerelda

Bless Your Heart.

Yeah, it's been all over the National News that Brown was involved in a shooting last November.

'UPDATE:

There was -just- a press conference.

Brown was selling drugs to 3 Louisiana men.

Brown shot one man, who is in custody at Parkland Hospital.

The other 2 are still at large, armed & dangerous.

Yes, his testimony in the Guyger Trial was heartfelt.

Yes, he made the world cry talking about Botham.

BUT...I was surprised/not surprised to hear about Brown's demise.

I've always felt like he was up to some shady shtuff & somehow

the trial exposed himself.  Maybe the drug deal wasn't 'exposing'

but it definitley was shady 'shtuff'.

Brown, himself, could've killed the guy in the hospital

so the character of Brown wasn't as squeaky clean as many

are portraying.  He was a criminal himself.

Re: dallas: botham jeans neighbor shot to death

@sidsmom  Thanks for the update.  And I just heard a little bit of it on the hourly news.

I thought from the beginning that it was not just a case of the witness being shot in retaliation as it was being reported. That there had to be more. Given his activities, I guess it’s no surprise that he had a fear of dying by gun violence.

I hadn’t heard anything about the November shooting on the nightly news. And I don’t have any of the 24/7 news channels. But after reading your post about it I did look it up. And I learned more about it there.

@esmerelda

Yeah, it's unfortunate the lawyer from the Jean family immediately

got on social media and started to spread SO many lies...lies that

many in BIG positions were believing.  I feel like HE needs to be

brought to justice about his reckless dialogue.
But that probably won't happen.

I read somewhere that the trial for the November shooting is coming up

soon (end of this month/November), so I hope that shooter can be

brought to justice without Brown's testimony.

Re: dallas: botham jeans neighbor shot to death

Brown did not want to testify because there were people after him who didn't know he was still in Dallas.

I didn't like the jumping to a conclusion that Brown was killed in retaliation for his testimony at the Guyger trial.

Jean's death was a tragedy beyond compare to Brown's death.

Brown's death is a tragedy because a life involved with drug dealing is a life short lived, most times.  Pointing fingers diminishes what happened to Jean.

Re: dallas: botham jeans neighbor shot to death

Lee Merritt, a lawyer for the family of Botham Jean, who was fatally shot by Guyger, previously said Brown had had reservations about testifying in the trial due to concerns for his safety.

On Tuesday, Merritt released a statement on behalf of the Brown family calling for the Dallas Police Department to turn the investigation over to another agency.

"This family and their representatives have consciously avoided speculating about law enforcement involvement in this tragedy, however, due to the proximity of this murder with the trial of Amber Guyger — rumors abound," the statement said, in part. "A cloud of suspicion will rest over this case until steps are taken to ensure the trustworthiness of the process."

The only person who still doesn't get it is...Lee Merritt and

all the others falling down the rabbit hole of unwarranted doubt.

'...their representatives have consciously avoided speculating...'

Just take a look at his Twitter feed.  It reads like crazy talk.

Conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory.

He r.e.a.l.l.y wants 'fetch to happen.'

Unfortunately God himself could come down & take over the case.....

and it still wouldn't be enough to satisfy the minds of

conspiracy theorists.
