I would like to ask you all a question. First let me say that I was raised to believe that each of us has our own unique personality and culture which we should cherish. Certainly our country is made of so many different languages and cultures that we are truly a melting pot. That being said, when I am the only customer in a shop for, say an hour, getting my nails or hair done, I tend to expect some conversation. Doesn't have to be much... maybe hi, how are you, how is your week... that kind of thing. Today, as many times in the past, my hour was spent listening to a foreign language, which I did not understand, being spoken by the staff to one another. It doesn't matter if it's Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian or any of the many languages in our country. I just find it rude to sit there with no idea of what's being said or being able to join in. It's not just one shop, please understand, so it's not a matter of simply going elsewhere.
May I ask your opinion of this? Am I simply being too sensitive? Or do you find this to be rude also?
