Love my Cuisinart 12 cup programmable Brew Central. Have had one for the last 10 years at least. When the first got the ick factor that couldn't be fixed(the plate gets worn), we got a new one. So two in probably over ten years.

Percolators make excellent coffee. My mom always had a CorningWare Percolator.

I agree that there's nothing like a good cup of percolated coffee. My mom had a percolator she used for years and then put it away when Mr. Coffee drip pots made their debut. It sat in a cabinet for many, many years old when I "inherited" it. I went on to use it for several years after that until it eventually died, 4 yrs. ago. I replaced it with a Presto 12 cup. You can find them on Amazon Prime for under $40. A small investment for a great pot of coffee.

Our Cuisinart died yesterday morning so DH and I went shopping for new coffee maker. We ended up bringing home a basic Mr. Coffee, made some coffee when company came over last evening, and didn't like it nearly as well. There was a Mr. Coffee that rated high consistently but we didn't get that one. We probably should have because we think it was the built in filter we were missing. The names that came up consistently and had good ratings were:
Cuisinart Brew Central
Mr. Coffee SJX
Melitta 10 cup
Bonavita BV1800 Brewer
We are returning the one we bought yesterday and are going back to Cuisinart. Daughter says Kohl's has them. Walmart and Target didn't.

This time of year, I love to make percolated coffee with the vintage glass Pyrex pot. When DH and I come in from raking leaves, there's nothing like that aroma.
We also have our reliable old Proctor-Silex drip coffeemaker.

I have had my Keurig for four years & it still works great. It is the most basic model that has a water tank. My Mom has a Mr. Coffee that takes K-Cups, and that has been working well for years. Before buying my Keurig, I was replacing coffee makers every year.

Sorry. That was not my intention. I was just saying what worked for me, since I was also replacing coffee makers often. My apologies.

I finally gave up on electric & percolator coffee makers. I used to buy the Cuisinart coffee makers, & they all gave up within a year (I went through 4 of those). Then I tried a Farberware percolator, & I hated the way the coffee tasted. I could never get it to taste good, no matter how I tried.
FINALLY, I bought a French Coffee Press. The Frieling Insulated Brushed Stainless Steel French Press is EXCELLENT! I bought mine at Bed Bath & Beyond & got 20% off (you can also get coupons to buy it online, with free shipping). This press makes the most flavorful coffee- I would never go back to any other machine.
I always buy organic coffee. I recently tried the Ruta Maya organic coffee beans in the medium roast, & OH MY!!! Talk about smooth, flavorful, & delicious.
