Anderson Cooper never looks ridiculous.

ABC Reporter Amy R. had a storm hat on but it was blown off and it wasn't done for ratings.  I don't understand why people are so quick to criticize, those reporters are doing a good job.

@Noel7, see my post. Carte blanche on a subject and people QVC moderators won't feel much motivated to delete because it isn't QVC related or fellow poster related. But people can still get their inner ***** on.

I just don't get it @Moonchilde , looking for any reason to tear down successful people.

Something else just struck me, @Noel7. So many people follow Reality TV and accept the doings and sayings and appearance of the dregs of humanity and those only interested in their 15 min of fame. That entertains {shudder} them. But picking apart news people and their networks in the middle of a national disaster? Oh, that's entertainment too. I guess.

I have two friends in the path of Irma after it leaves FLA. one is a police dept employee who is considered one of the essential personnel, so she has to be at work and leave her 10 year old home alone. (No family in town).  Who knows if there will be power for him, or the PD. But she has to go. Maybe I should make fun of what she wears to work, or rail about her PD that's forcing her to go.

I didn't like him back in the day when he was on GMA.   I thought he was too melodramic, syrupy and well awful.    Then he went to CNN and I think he is GREAT!!!    I think this type of position is a much better fit for him.   I flip between Morning Joe and CNN every morning and love him now.   He is smart , informed, educated and just does a great job , IMO.

I agree with Suebdoo.  You have many choices in the morning; don't like him?  Don't watch him.

@Moonchilde

I remember the video of Anderson Cooper rescuing a young boy in the middle of a riot.  Who knows what happened to his hat today, who cares?  He's a good man, and he already has good ratings.  Honestly, how could a hat matter?

For myself, I am not particularly worried about these news reporters/meterologists that report on hurricanes.  They have a whole army of people working right along with them, advising them, looking out for them, etc.   In the event of a hurricane, they have an advance team that goes to the sight and locates what they think will be the safest place given the specific forecast for that area.  If a place becomes too dangerous, they will relocate.  Of course that doesn't guarantee that something won't happen, but they take those risks.

I once saw an interview with Jim Cantore and Mike Sidell talking about why they do what they do.  They both said they have heard from people after every hurricane that because of what they were seeing on TV, they didn't go check on their boat, they didn't go outside to check something out, etc.  Also, they frequently hear that people in the path of the storm that decided not to evacuate have changed their minds when they see them out there in the elements and know that is coming their way.  So they do feel like they are sending a very important message to people in the direct area.

So I give them all credit for what they do.  Oh, and I will always think quite a lot of Anderson Cooper for doing what he did to get that Haitian little boy that was bleeding to safety.

This network, and I hesitate to use that term has lost all credibility with me, I refuse to watch it.

Has anyone seen my popcorn?  I have a feeling I'm going to want some soon.
