i now can clearly feel the vibrations and wind blasts from the approaching hurricane sandy.
nyc is an island surrounded by water. nyc has many surrounding beaches in all the 5 boroughs.
they have closed mass transit, airports, many businesses, and the streets are begining to look less active.the mayor has called for evacuation of some areas, but for those who have no way to evacuate i imagine they just remain indoors and pray.
small items are becomming a bit airborne with the strong wind gusts, and the birds are no where to be seen. the pigeons and sea gulls usually fly over head even during bad storms, but they must have found refuge for now, because i scan the horizon with binoculars and see nothing flying.
the ocean waves are becoming much more active, and the white caps now are steady.
i know this is just the beginning..........and i pray we all get through it and remain safe....may God protect his children during times of stress, and mother nature's fury.
i will try checking in as the day progresses, provided i still can, and when i can, God willing will check back.
