bridal shower gifts

My niece is having a bridal in a few weeks and I have no idea what to get her. She lives in another city. I will not be attending but I do want to get her something.She has been on her own for over 15 yrs and has a nice home.She is a very practical and not into allot of frillie stuff. Do people give gift card a bridal showers? Suggestions please. thank you for taking the time to respond. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}
