bbr and azterry - When they showed up the first time a couple years ago we thought they were someone's escaped pets. Then we learned about the wild colony of them here but mostly on another part of the island. We are always happy when they come back. Seems like they stay and hang around for several weeks at a time. We love to see them although they can be kind of screechy and don't sing as pretty as some of our other backyard birds.
They just arrived again a few moments ago for their afternoon feeding. They make me feel happy. But 'Red Bird', "our" male cardinal is still our favorite. I love his song.

we have two birds nests on our property.....one is by an outdoor light that has burned out. i wanted to change the bulb because i like having the lights outside at night for several reasons. i decided that i have to wait until i see that the eggs have hatched. i am pretty sure that it is a robins nest. saw a robin sitting in it today.
the other nest is actually in our garage. now i feel the need to keep my garage door open all day long so the birds can finish the nest on one of our shelves and do what they need to do. i feel bad about closing it at night, but i HAVE to do it.

We have a very large flock of parrots here........they had taken over a historical landmark (old movie theater with a clock tower) but they took steps to get rid of them.........nothing fatal just a time for you to find another spot type of deal.........they moved, but don't know where to........but it was AWESOME to go downtown and see them all over that theater.....................................raven

Thanks for posting this. I think I will get some and try spraying it very lightly. We try to take nesting material out as soon as they start on our front porch but they are persistant little creatures. One day, one flew in the front door. Oh, boy, let the games begin! We flung the front door open and it finally flew out. I thought it was going to die but it was just dazed. I would rather have a little sticky on their feet than ever see that again.

How do you spray something that comes in a tube?

Birds groom their feet and they scratch itches with their feet just like dogs and cats.

Sorry, I forgot it came in a tube...in fact.... I even told my husband last night it looked like a "caulking" tube.
Need that second cup of coffee, I guess.
