We've done the rubber snake thing. You just have to move it around every now and then.

A scarecrow? Maybe someone has one from Halloween. Tie some lightweight plastic streamers to the arms and hands.

Now that I'm thinking about it, didn't/don't farmers have scarecrows out on their land/crops to keep the birds away?

You know, a tin bucket on top for a head and streamers on the arms and hands. Made of hay and straw. And dressed in old clothing.

That is the basis for using the tinfoil, which works but is hard to "attach"..... I honestly don't mind if the birds eat SOME of my tomatoes... but save a couple for me!
My sister has said all along, she thinks it is squirrels that eat HER tomatoes, maybe that is the case with mine too...
I don't even want to THINK of what some people would do to squirrels to repel them.....

However, if you followed the directions for this product, it would probably be ok. Not enough to get them stuck. Just enough to annoy them.
But, why do you even need to annoy them?
Gee whiz, they're just birds. Live and let live.
I like birds, but I don't like the c r a p that I have to clean up all over my deck almost every day.
If you'd like to come over and clean it for me, by all means, feel free.
AS I SAID, we have a owl on our deck and it keeps them away from the deck and does not harm them.
I wouldn't use the sticky stuff. After reading the experiences of some of the users, it doesn't sound like something I would take a chance using.

The danm birds were there first!!
This really chaps my hide! Those who are inconvienced by nature, animals and the flora and fauna that surround the structures that we live and work in.
Another NIMBY who cares more about herself than the poor birds! I am sickened by this thread.
