hihi --

even though i mostly post on Marp's "checking in mates" thread these days, there are many of you i think of fondly and who've been of great help to me in the past. just like that proverbial bad penny, here i am again asking for your help!

wanted to let you know that i'll be having surgery this Thursday, assuming the pre-op tests all come back okay. turns out i have a stone lodged in my kidney. don't know if anyone remembers all the hospitalizations i had last fall, but my doctors are attributing those infections to this stone. i sure hope they're right. at any rate, this is expected to be a somewhat long (4 - 5 hours) surgery, with 2 surgeons coming at the stone from different directions.

so ... other than the obvious plea for understanding and good wishes {#emotions_dlg.blush}, i'm wondering what to bring with me to the hospital. thus far i'm thinking chapstick, computer, cd player and favorite music, clothes to wear home. i've tried bringing books and puzzles and stuff like that in the past, but haven't been able to concentrate. of course there will be my basic hygiene items. a list of important phone numbers and e-mail addresses. what else? i really want to bring a stuffed animal and a small pillow. LOL it sounds like i'm moving in there, doesn't it? (bite my tongue)

any other thoughts? my therapist and i have done hypnosis to help me with pain management, and i'm not at all shy about asking for pain medicine. what else might i need or should i do ahead of time?

thanks.

bunny. the dangerously complicated rabbit.
