bamboo flooring

am thinking of getting rid of carpets and putting in bamboo flooring.I have 2rottweilers, need something that can stand the wear and tear.Also should I replace the carpets on the stairs also?I know it will take a little time for me to get used to the change but I see all the new homes don't use carpet anymore
