Re: baking competitions...curious

I used to like the baking competitions on the Food Network.

The contestants acted like adults.

Then they made Carla Hall a permanent fixture in one way or an other and I was done.

One of the hosts that they had I believe a couple of years ago was Molly Yeh.  Did not like her at all.  She acted so childish.  For me like nails down a chalk board.  I remember near the end even a contestant walked out.  The rest of the hosts I don't mind.

I really enjoy the baking shows, tending to avoid most reality shows.  I enjoy most of the judges and am a big fan of Carla Hall since her early days on tv..  I love when there's comraderie amongst the contestants.  For me, the goal should be about doing your best and not about cutting/underming your competitor.

I totally agree @ruthbe

That was the worse season!  I stopped watching after a couple cuz it was even too hard to FF through her foolishness.

I do like Carla Hall but on these shows...she acts manic and childish.

I don't know if they 'script' her that way or not, but I don't watch those either.

I can alway watch Ree though....

They know the deal when they sign up.  The professionals who own their own bakeries benefit from publicity even if they don't win.
