asparagus ~ thumbs up or down?

[ Edited ]

YUCK!

I live about a half hour's drive away from Hadley, MA which is supposedly the “Asparagus Capital of the World" because of the soil there.  Asparagus ice cream is a new treat for lovers of this veggie!

Last time I had them I was 12 and broke out in hives, I have not had them again in 40+ years

I love them, roasted until just before the burnt stage.  It has to be the thin ones.

I can't make them too far ahead of dinner time or there would be none left because I keep going back and taking a few to taste just to make sure they're good!

@CelticCrafter - you sound like a woman after my own heart.  To be honest, I didn't like "aspraguts" as a kid, but as an adult I sure do.  Oven roasted is my favorite way to prepare them and there's never any leftovers.

I can take or leave asparagus. Agree that it must be the pencil thin kind, roasted with olive oil and salt. My oldest son is a big fan. It is good for you, but I will pass on the ice cream, thank you.
