I applied on line got an answer within a week (may have been less then 7 days) got notice of how much my benefits would be and when everything should start all one line.

Same for me. I didn't want/need/have to go to the SS office and I got zero phone calls.

We have an office one mile away. DH stopped in and made the appt. He wanted a ""face to face"".
