@sidsmom I have memories of both the drive in restaurants and drive in movies . . . I was young for both of them so I usually fell asleep almost immediately for the movie but I always managed to stay awake when coming home from A&W with a gallon of root beer and vanilla ice cream . . .

Drive-in movies..............I lived in Chicago at the time..............and I remember those clip-on heaters NEVER worked...

I so loved A&W back in the old days.  I was so excited when I graduated from being able to eat a "baby burger" to a "mama burger"!  (never made it to the Papa burger size) 

We brought home the gallon size root beer as well it was so good.  Closed up for many decades then came back to our town in 1999 but just could not make it.  It did not taste the same but I was glad to back for a trip back in time.

We also had drive in restaurants, like A & W...Really good burgers and fries, and shakes!!!!!!They have all closed now, but we went a lot, when we were dating, and also when our girls were small......
