We bought Amazon Prime last year on Black Friday.  We paid $79 discounted from $99.

I'm almost certain that you cannot get Prime for less than the $99 a year and you cannot get it for less than a year.  I don't know what you mean my "this".  Amazon did have 2-packs and 4-packs of Kindle Fires last Christmas season and the one before.  They did not come with cases, you had to pay extra for cases.  This TSV is terrific price.

I think, I think, (and I could very well be 100% wrong about this) but I think that students might get a discount on Prime, and if you are lower income you can get a discount on it.

But I'm not exactly 100% sure on that.

I don't think that's true, I don't even see how that would be possible.  When you sign up for Prime, Amazon doesn't ask you about your income or personal questions like that.

I had no idea that people can get Prime on month by month basis or that there is a student rate.   I think those of us who have been Prime members for eons, just doen't look at things like that.

When I first signed up Prime was being offered at a special price and I jumped.  Since then it has been $99/yr.

Re: amazon prime

[ Edited ]

I went to the page that @K9buddy provided

and on there it says:

Get Six Months Free

"Get six months free Prime Students is a discounted version of regular Prime that costs $49 per year, but you have to be a student with a .edu email address to qualify."

Discount For People On Government Assistance

"Amazon recently announced a major Prime discount for people enrolled in certain programs, bringing down the monthly fee to $5.99 for qualifying customers with an EBT card. You will need a valid EBT number to confirm your eligibility. The offer is good for up to 48 months, and you will need to re-qualify every 12 months."
