abused animals

Ladies, this is my first post to this board. i'm a senior, I know very well what's going on in the world today with people and animals. When those ads for abused animals come on tv (now they're showing up on Fb) i immediatley click the remote or close my eyes. I volunteer at an animal shelter, ll years now, i own 4 cats so i try to do my part, but the sight of those sad eyes tears my heart out. Am i going crazy, does anyone else react like this ? accidents are different, diseases can't be helped, but for a human to toss an animal out of a moving car or use a blunt instrument on them drives me crazy !! anyone else have this reaction and how do you handle it ?? tia Felinemom
