Niece and I were talking about kitchen designs. It brought back memories of my mother's kitchen in the 1950's.

My mother's kitchen was a mix of old and new design. Her curtains were handmade with fruits designs (apples, pears and berries), she had a small table and chairs that she always kept handmade table cloths on, her dishes were a complete mix (every new base we went to another dish was broken.) Our walls were never bright colors (base housing) neither were the cabinets. The cooksbooks were always out and open, marked up with notes. She loved pyrex dish designs.
