Well, it is near that time of year again. When we "spring forward" in time.  My personal feelings are that I wish the times changes would stop.  I don't care if they pick Standard or Daylight Savings, but I wish they would pick one and leave it all year.  What do you feel?  (Not that how we feel will make the slightest difference).

@Sunshine Kate My father was a watchmaker - he told us to never ever turn a clock's hands backwards - always forwards even if it takes longer, and if the clock has chimes you must stop at the top of each hour and let it do its thing.  Don't know if that is true with today's clocks but neverless I never go backwards with the hands of my clocks lol.

I also want to stop the spring forward fall back changes for one consistent time for the future. Just pick one and stay with it. This year more than ever, I am noticing a physical change in my sleeping habits that's letting me know my body knows it's close to time change and it is ready to spring forward.

Re: Your feeling on time change (Spring and Fall)

The issue I see is that "some" school children go to school in the dark & sometimes come home from school in the dark if they stay for after school "activities."

When I was in the rat race & because I lived in one State & worked in another, I arrived at work in the dark & arrived back home in the dark.

@sunshine 919   YES, here in Arizona we have the SAME TIME all year long!  It's one of the reasons I moved here 32 years ago!

My daughter and her family live in L.A. and my sister and her family live in FL.

I LOVE this time change as regards by L.A. family as we'll be on the same time..YAY!  but it will be a 3 hr time difference between me and my sister and her family so that's not good at all!

Re: Your feeling on time change (Spring and Fall)

The time change itself doesn't bother me in the least since I set my own schedule.  However, I love DST and wish we'd stay on it all year.  I hate when it gets dark at 5pm in December and love long summer evenings.

Re: Your feeling on time change (Spring and Fall)

It is the feds who are mandating daylight savings.  Individual states are also forbidden to implement permanent daylight savings.

What a state can do is to implement permanent standard time.

So get after your state representatives and let them know.  You will be amazed who will see you and who couldn't care less.  Vote!  At least it can be a fun day trip to the capital.

The time change doesn't really bother me.  Now, if you could change nature so the winter didn't have so many dark hours...

Re: Your feeling on time change (Spring and Fall)

It's only one hour and no big deal.  Most modern clocks and electronic devices change by themselves.

I prefer DST, but leaving it the way it is is okay by me too.

It takes more than 1 hour to upset me.  I have traveled a lot.  Fly to Asia, if you wanna see your internal clock go wonky.

That's the thing!  No matter what the clock says, there is less daylight in the winter and more in the summer. 🤷‍♀️

[ Edited ]

It definately is time for the time change to go away and stop messing with Mother Nature.  I prefee DST as DH and I both have trouble seeing to drive at night and the extra daylight hour would help.

I am a nightowl so i don't care what happens in the morning - dark or light - I am asleep until almost Noon.  Now that I am retired I can go with my natural inclination to stay up very late and sleep all morning.
