I think he was a smart man to realize the only way we can start to work towards a new normal is for many of us to get the vaccine and build herd immunity.   Apparently he values and respects his friendships.

I am with the majority here. We're all weary to some extent, some more than others, so I give @rms1954 a pass, also. I tell myself when I get into hyper-critical mode and or hyper-introspective mode, that I'm getting into my head too much. I then try to go into release and forgive mode.

While I have openly stated I will not get the vaccine at this time since it is not fully tested and used on an emergency basis only, that does not mean I cannot get it after more is known about it and it is easier to get one.  Many I know have only worn masks or social distanced if mandatory and are quick to criticize anyone not wanting to rush out to get the vaccine.  I owe no explanations nor will I answer inquisitions about whether I have received a vaccine or not!!

Who knows why he changed his mind perhaps one of the friends he gathers with insisted or perhaps a news report convinced him.

When coworkers found out that a guy who had retired three years ago recently died from it a lot of people where I work changed their mind.  It made folks think about the dangers of the virus

This is about a person I know that blatantly was against getting the Covid vaccine.  Person stated multiple times that he felt strongly against it.  So now he goes and gets the vaccine but keeps it hush/hush.  Found out the reason being is his friends get together once a week in a group of six to listen to music and trade CDs.  The house this group gathers at would not allow anyone into his home without having the vaccine administered.

What would you think about this person and his values and beliefs?  I feel if he's that willing to give into what he strongly was against, I have a hard time believing and putting any value or truth when he speaks on other things.

I don't think what he does to his body, medically, is any of your business. He shouldn't have told you about any of that. If you're willing to break your acquaintance with him over this, you two were already completely incompatible.

Would you think it was fair if he said such unkind things about you if you changed your mind about something?

I think he is an example of the fact that it is easy to have a strong, rigid opinion about something until it gets personal.

Honestly, what I think is that it's his own business and I'd be happy that he's now vaccinated.

Sometimes changing one's mind, can make one a hypocrite.  Saying one thing and doing the opposite.

Can't speak to this man because I do not know him.

So, I'll say there are hypocrites in this world.
