Absolutely!  I do remember! I was only stating a "fact" not condoning or "agreeing" with the choice or outcome.

We've ridden with two different motorcycle clubs, but were not members.  Poker runs and benefits (beef and beers), lots of fun and camaraderie with relatives, friends and total strangers alike.

Both were being infiltrated with bike club members that we didn't want to be affiliated with.  So we discontinued.  No harm no foul.  We chose who we wanted to ride with.

Britannica.com

The Hells Angels were always known as dangerous barroom fighters, but law enforcement officials later came to associate them with the manufacture and distribution of illegal drugs, especially methamphetamine.

Reputations are made for a reason.  People are known by how they live and interact with others.  That being said, just because they conduct themselves appropriately in a store or restaurant doesn't mean they can't be dangerous criminals and/or drug dealers. etc.   Personally, I would stay far away (if I had a choice) from a group known to be involved in criminal activity.

@Biftu

I was 10.  I don't remember Altamont nor do I remember reading about it as an adult so I Googled it

The show took place on the Altamont Speedway between Livermore and Tracy on Dec. 6, 1969. During the show, 18-year-old fan Meredith Hunter was stabbed to death by Hells Angels security — all while the Rolling Stones played on stage, unaware of what they were witnessing.Aug 3, 2023

@Puzzle Piece   They're definitely not my cup of tea. We've had streams of them ride through town and I don't feel comfortable when they're in town.

Thanks to all for your inputs.  I will steer clear of that street and those folks.

The lifestyle seems so depressing.  Dirty clothing, ungroomed looks, etc.  I have never thought that they have much of a goal or future.  The women who are their 'babes' aren't too much different.  i don't find riding around and making noise on a motorcycle the way tht they do much of a contribution to humankind.

Re: Your Thoughts Please

[ Edited ]

Wow.  That's pretty judgmental.   To both the men and women of this lifestyle.

But to be expected here.

For all we know, each individual may be contributing a great deal.  What a very, very narrow analysis of your neighbor based upon superficialites and perceived notions.  Sad.  Very sad.

We moved to a small city for my husbandad's retirement.  It's a rather dull place to me.  However, this place has a large chapter of Hells Angels here.  They have rule over a certain street where their 'clubhouse' is located.  I'm not into that sort of lifestyle and have no interest in seeking out aqauintances with the members, etc.  What are your thoughts on that bunch.

I'm trying to figure out why this is an issue.  You don't live near their clubhoue and as far as I can tell from your post, they haven't attempted to recruit you.
