Re: Your Nick...What Inspired Yours

A while back some posters tried to run me off the boards. When I decided to come back I changed my nick from slverbell to moxie. I love my new nick.

I don't think a nic name predetermines if one is an insider or outsider.

Re: Your Nick...What Inspired Yours

I was the proverbial tomboy as a little girl. My mother took me to see Peter Pan starring Mary Martin and it really resonated with my child mind. I sang the song "I'll Never Grow Up" and wanted to become Peter Pan, although I have no idea how that would have happened!

At some point, seeing the movie for about the 37th time, I realized that Tinkerbell had a much better gig ...... not only were people always happy to see her, but she carried her own light source and had a GREAT wardrobe! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

For a while, now and then, as I grew up I wanted to be Tinkerbell, but that never happened. Along the way, I've had both a goldfish and a pretty parakeet named Tink .... and now a screen name at a few places here and there.

You've stated this several times now (that I've seen) but the irony is that each time I've posted directly to you, you've ignored me. It may or may not have been intentional, but my point is that it's not possible for everyone to respond to each and every post here.

I wasn't offended by your not acknowledging me, regardless of the reason, but I'm confused as to why you keep posting this when clearly others have and continue to respond to your posts?

I posted the same and she ignored me too. I understand being ignored because not everyone sees every post.

{#emotions_dlg.laugh} I see you!

Re: Your Nick...What Inspired Yours

Okay, to those that are stating I'm an ignorer now, please accept my humble, sincere and heartfelt apologies- and a vial of my blood. Dam some of you don't forget squat about posters... Truly have I ignored anyone else? Really feel free to tell me now.. waving at Cat and anyone else that kindly posted to me on this thread.... and oh by the way, let's get real, lots have started goodbye threads- some are remembered and used against them, as has been done to me. Several of you would not speak to me when my nic was Suzie- that isn't a lie so I changed it and some thought it was cute- the few that have befriended me and have stayed true and not felt the need to throw anything in my face.. Yes a nic does make one an outsider or insider, that is if the clique accepts you for who you are... dang am I the only one that sees stuff like that going on?

Re: Your Nick...What Inspired Yours

Peachysue, I like you very much. I liked you as Suzie, I like you as Peachysue. I consider you a friend and as your friend I am going to say that, I just don't know what it is that makes you feel like an outsider. Who is it that you want attention from that you are not getting? I have seen you make these comments many times about being left out. I just don't see why you feel that way.

It is simply not possible to post a response to every post a person makes. I hope you can find a way to not take it personally anymore.

In the words (paraphrased) of Sally Field "We like you, we really like you". So please stop feeling like an outsider.

Peachy...no you are not the only one who sees stuff going on....but I do not believe that belonging to a clique makes you an insider or an outsider...it just makes you part of a clique....right or wrong.

So....Just step up and post on threads that interest you and don't take it personal if your post seems to go unnoticed because the same can be said for 99% of posts made around here....unless someone is directly quoting something or someone then I see no reason to expect a direct reply.

Re: Your Nick...What Inspired Yours

Why is it that sooner than later a poster decides to make a thread about themselves? If you want to discuss you, start your own thread.
