We never turn ours off unless we are going out of town.

My husband gets up at different times and sometimes on the weekend during the day I will get a cup. Don't see any reason to cut it off. Our machine is almost 2 yrs old and works fine.

I don't know what the correct thing to do is, but unless we're away over night or longer, the Keurig stays on. I suppose it might be beneficial if I turn it off?

My Keurig takes about 30 seconds or less to heat the water. I would not want to keep mine on all the time. The first thing I do when I get up is turn my Keurig on, fill water bowls for my 2 dogs and the water is now hot enough for me to fix a cup.
