It's actually the ice and freezing rain we're freaking out over here.

LOL!! I know I live in Raleigh and was supposed to go.

I like watching live BBall but I hate it when WRAL preempts my NCIS for a game.

My mom freaks out when her NCIS isn't on and she has to DVR when they show it at 1:30am. That is her favorite show in the whole world.

I didn't realize you lived in NC.

I don't get quite as annoyed now that NCIS is on demand. I've live here long enough to remember when WRAL was an ABC station and Crabtree Mall ended at Sears.

LOL. That is a long time. I moved here in 2002 from Buffalo (Orchard Park, NY). I am waiting for my daughter to get here. She left work at 1pm to drive home. She was going to drive all the way home, she lives near Falls of Neuse, but I talked her into coming to my house because it is closer. She got off the 540 at the Glenwood exit about 2 hours ago and is still on Glenwood. I live up the street from Crabtree near Oberlin.

I come from Buffalo and I am used to snow but I am not used to freezing rain. In all my yrs of living in Buffalo I have never seen worse driving conditions than I do here when we get freezing rain. Plus, I never lost power in NY either because of snow.

...when the local NBC affiliate pre-empts the entire Today show to continue with their local coverage of 6"" of snow. In Michigan. Really.

I truly feel for the people who live in areas where snow/sleet/ice are uncommon winter experiences. I'd rather have a foot of snow than 1/10th of an inch of ice any day.

I was stuck on Glenwood for 3 hours in the 2005 ice event. I finally gave up and pulled into a motel where I got the last room. I hope your daughter makes it home soon.

Thanks. I do too. I was stuck on the 540 in 2005 and it was not fun. Have a good night.

Hi CB you have to understand that we don't get weather like this here in NC and SC. This has basically shut us all down. Now we are dealing with sleet and freezing rain which puts us in danger of losing power. 6 inches may not be a biggie to some but it is to us.

It's actually the ice and freezing rain we're freaking out over here.

When i lived In pittsburgh we often had ise, sleet , freezing rain followed by a few inches of snow. Couple that with mountainous terrain. But yet we were not leaving our cars by the roadsides and going to seek shelter -nor were we sitting at home afraid to go out. We were expected to go to work and come back home and go again the next day. I don't understand this whole Atlanta or Raleigh phenomenon. It's snow , not armageddon for cripes sake.
