The fact that she responded at all is a negative for me. And this is just the way I see it .. I think she does care because if she is really fine with her image she would not have acknowledged the comments at all.

Using the negative comments about one performer to defend another is just as bad.

I heard people were mocking her and I thought, I wsih I was as thin as her! Good for her for speaking up!

If you couldn't see...............I'm so thankful for the gift of sight. Those poor people in the public eye. They could appreciate her singing voice, and stop judging and labeling. I once read, if you point your finger at someone else, you have 3 pointing back at you. I didn't get to see her performance, and my husband was quite impressed. If he brings it up, to me that says something.

That's something we're seeing all too often nowadays. But it now seems to be much more sinister and part of an agenda.
I hope we all can be better than that.
Persist.
Preach it sister.
I love Lady Gaga, and she inspires me to like and accept myself more. And not that it's even relevant but her body is amazing.

Good for her. What a classy way to address a situation.
Someone else (a particular vendor here on QVC) could take a few lessons from the classy way Lady GaGa handled this.
I hate that some are so fixated on someone's body at all. In the things that make you go hmmmm department, I do see some on here defending Lady GaGa and making comments about the type of people that would say something negative about a woman's body, when they were none to nice on threads about the weightloss efforts of an ex-talk show host.

I think she has great talent and didn't really notice her body. I would love to see the people who slammed her get in front of millions of people in that outfit and see what others would have to say about their bodies.

Let's embrace our imperfections...we could be happier and we would have more money to spend on the important moments of our lives. The cosmetic and plastic surgery industries are raking it in and we are making it happen for them...we can spend all we want to look younger, more beautiful but we still won't get a longer expiration date.

@makena, she very briefly mentioned that there was talk about her. Rather, she used the opportunity to reach out to people in a very positive way. I think her words were better than silence.
After all, she could have responded to the online posts with anger, rudeness, and insults. But she was very gracious instead. She could give a certain other public figure a lesson or two. :-)
