Re: Yard Sales/Tag Sales/Garage Sales Help please

Yeah, no more garage sales for me either. We just donate it all now. The day of our last sale we only lasted until 10am. Well, ok, my husband did. I think I lasted less than an hour because I'm big on manners and it seems a lot of people are not. I'm a very nice person, but if you push me...all bets are off.

If it weren't bad enough that they wanted to pay a dime for everything, they will show up at 5am, banging on your door. We figured that 7am was early enough to start but, nooooo - there they were banging on the door at 5am. When we were setting up they were pestering us. By 8am I went in the house because I was having a hard time being polite to some of those folks.

This could have been written by me too...your experience was much like mine...thus I had 1 yard sale in my life and said NEVER again.

I found that it didn't make a lot of difference what I marked anything. Even if it was a brand new, $300, item that was priced at $30, some Neanderthal would offer me a dime for it.

Needless to say, I didn't last long with hosting yard/garage sales. Smiley Happy Last time somebody did that I told him 'sure, just a minute while I run over it with my car THEN you can have it for a dime'. ha!

HAHAHAHA!

BTDT! This is why I do not have yard sales any more. I can price something for a quarter and some fool will walk up to me and offer me a dime.

Oh and I have things stolen from yard sales too. Another reason.

I have been told that rule of thumb is 10% of the original cost.

That's one reason I don't have garage sales that's what I posted---I just donate too--- easier. Smiley Happy

Do you even know how to use the quote feature?

Unless you want to pack it away or donate it, price it cheap.
