@Buffalogal47 Summer was certainly rude but that did not justify Beth starting that physical fight. It was brutal and way beyond the "punishment fitting the crime".
All Beth can do is settle issues with violence; time to grow up. As I said, I had to turn away.
I'm not a fan of Summer, either, but that fight was brutal and there were better ways to settle this issue.

Did you know that Taylor Sheridan now owns the real-life 6666 Ranch in Texas? Bought it for something like $320 million ... (actually it was fronted by his investment group).

@Kitty Galore John made an interesting statement about Beth to Rip after the fight with Summer. John told Rip that he "envied" Beth. Husband and I had a discussion regarding that comment. John was talking about the freedom of the past and how people could express themselves and some times a fight settled the differences. Our take, he "envies" Beth because she is a free spirit and is able to express herself even if it means punching it out. John sees his current world disappearing (of course that is a major theme throughout this epic journey).
Another aside, I am vegan but I don't argue/lecture about my personal lifestyle with others and most certainly not as a dinner guest. I would never behave like Summer. I respect choice. She was rude and gives vegans a bad name.

Yes summer had it coming, she was very disrespectful going on and on about the meat on the table and lecturing everyone on why they should not eat meat. Your a guest you eat what's in front of you or find something on the table you can or will eat and do it !! Just give her a Bowl of grass like Beth said or something to that effect lol !!!! I don't like her character at all and what does John see in her anyways 😏 Got to give it to Beth that girl can take a punch, and keep on going 🤕

@SoCal Bred I don't think he sees anything in Summer that he would emulate or respect. He was told by his girl friend (the senator) that for him to understand the environmentalists that he must work with he should hire one and recommended that he find out about their point of view. That's why he got Summer out of jail and brought her to his ranch....simply to learn about her perspective. He doesn't have much respect for her cause...but it looks as if (from the last episode) that her character might be taking another look at her environmentalist lifestyle.

Yes, you are correct @Cakers3. But I guess that is what makes Yellowstone so enticing...an eye for an eye sense of justice, which can be challenging. Beth seems to enjoy foisting her childhood anger ("womb cut out of me") on others.

I thought the 12/4 episode was disgusting. The script for Beth & John was over-the-top. I had Yellowstone on again while waiting for another program at 9 (not George & Tammy).
Someone makes insulting comments and they deserve to be brutally beaten - really?? Battery is a violent crime.
I think the fiction writers must've been running out of shocking behaviors for Beth. Oh - except the shocking comment by the parent character John that he "envies her freedom." To brutally physically & verbally abuse others.
I wonder how many kids watch this model program - and they do even though it's for a "mature" audience.

I loved Beth's coat in that last episode. Colors are soft and feminine.

I know the show is pure fiction intended to portray a nostalgic version of the West and the cowboys and ranchers that lived there. I disagree that Beth is free. She lives in a dark place and seems to get away with her behavior. She has enablers. I do not know any grown woman who gets in physical altercations with other women but I don't hang out in bars or party with cowboys. With her wealth and family she could clean up her act and adopt a baby if that is what she really wants. She is clearly an alcoholic and should be in rehab.
