Re: Y2K: How did you prepare?

Our computer program changed at work, we went from the year being 2 digits to 4 digits. So we manually had to go through thousands of projects and files and change the number of digits.

We must have done a good job. I do not remember any problems.

Re: Y2K: How did you prepare?

Thought about this the other day as I looked at the farmhouse across from the new, mega gas station. Owners painted "Y2K - Ready?" in white paint on their roof. I have no idea what their point was. For years, until the paint totally went away, there was a shadow of the words on their roof. Didn't prepare. Unplugged technology, as advised, and employers took care of technology business on their end. I think it must have been a slow news year in 1999 so the Y2K business was at the forefront.

A couple we know went nuts in 1988, thinking the apocolypse was going to happen. Gave all their friends a book about it. I just had a baby and wasn't in the mood to hear it. They're now attending a radical church and we run into them at the grocery store now and again.

We got some extra cash in small bills and coins in case banks had to untangle things.
