Y2K: How did you prepare?

I worked for a financial institution during this time.

Planned for months ahead of time.

Almost a letdown nothing really happened.

I did unplug my TV & desktop. Funny.

I bought some extra food staples and took some cash out of the bank. When they weren’t needed I used the groceries and put the money back in the bank.

I was working for IT at the time and we did a lot to prepare and nothing went wrong. A few PC’s had to be manually upgraded but it was pretty smooth. At home I disconnected my PC and no issues either

I created a party, more or less laughing at the idea. I bought a great snowball at Target that had a mini computer in it with all the wires flying out, making a joke of it.

I bring it out every year for New Year's as a reminder of all the hype. We had champagne and appetizers.

husband headed the IT group in charge of making sure they transitioned without a hitch, and all went well. we didn’t think it was a big deal.

We did nothing at all. I never believed all the hype, and figured if it was, by some wild coincidence ,real, I would worry about it when I had to face it the next day.

I refuse to make myself ill, worrying about things I can't control
