Nick arrives at the ranch and tells Victor he's not there for the party, he's there to say goodbye. He says Victor was right about Sharon, and about him - he needs to focus on his own choices. He wants time to think since this involves Faith. Victor supports him getting full custody, but thinks he's running away. Noah points out none of this would have happened if Nick had redone the DNA test when Summer was born. Nick is sorry and hopes Noah will forgive him. He hugs Victor and Noah goodbye. they'll watch out for the girls and The Underground.
At the penthouse, Billy tells Chelsea that he helped deliver Victoria's baby. Ashley arrives. Billy says it's not a good time, but she has something to say. Chelsea goes upstairs. Billy doesn't want another 'you belong together' pep talk about Victoria. Ash says, "You belong together." Billy says his life is with Chelsea and Connor. Ash feels he's fooling himself. She leaves. Chelsea is on the stairs. She tells Billy she heard. Billy says Ash was out of line, and admits being there for the birth brought everything back - he had a moment. Chelsea asks if he wants to be with Victoria. Billy wants to be with Chelsea. She asks if he can honestly say nothing will change between them if Victoria's baby is his.
At the Abbott house, Phyllis tells Jack family and friends are coming for an engagement party. Jack replies, "No Phyllis. That is not a good idea." Summer and Austin arrive, followed by Abby and Traci. They enthuse over the engagement news. Jack says the announcement is premature. Phyllis asks why. Jack wants time to savor it with Phyllis first. It turns out no one can stay. Phyllis is upset. Jack intervenes. Summer thanks him. Later, Traci takes Phyllis to see some roses out back. Ashley enters and hisses at Jack, "You're marrying her?" She wonders how him falling for another woman fits into the plan. Jack says he has to tell Kelly it's over. Ash is appalled he hasn't already, and urges him to tell her immediately before she hears it from someone else. Phyllis and Traci rejoin them. Jack has to go out. Phyllis accuses Ashley of talking behind her back. Ash suggests they get things out in the open. Phyllis thinks not. Ashley convinces her to stick around. Phyllis suggests they get the family albums out and then slips out.
At the Club, Kelly looks at a photo of her and Jack on her phone. Lily appears. They discuss Jack seeming distracted at the hospital and then go over an upcoming wedding reception. Kelly worries about Jack. Lily is sure he's just letting Phyllis down easy. They joke about Phyllis coming after Kelly with a machete. They finish and Jack appears. "We need to talk."
Abby, Summer, and Austin arrive at the ranch as Nick is leaving. He has to go, and promises to spend time with Summer when he gets back. After, Nikki is at the hospital, so Victor goes ahead and toasts to Summer being his granddaughter. Summer wants to toast to Phyllis and Jack's engagement. Victor doesn't want to toast to Jack Abbott. Summer won't let him gloat over Jack's loss. Victor goes to get more champagne. The younger set bickers about Sharon's actions, Victor trying to make Summer choose between the Newmans and Abbotts, and who is worse, Phyllis or Sharon. Abby tries to lighten the mood. Summer, Austin, and Noah leave. Victor asks Abby where everyone went. She says some people have no sense of humor. Victor is sure everyone will come for Thanksgiving.
At Constance's house, Adam looks at his obituary and tries to lift weights. Sage wants him to take it slow. He needs to leave. Constance appears. "Leave? What are you talking about?" Adam says he needs to see daylight but promises not to overdo it. Sage wheels Constance out and returns. Adam tells her no more sedatives. Sage can only cover for him so much. He comments sarcastically about her looking out for him. Sage says she Constance is the grandmother she never had and she is frail. She's worried about her finding out Adam isn't Gabriel. Adam won't hurt her, but won't stay there and be her prisoner. This is his chance for a new life. Constance wheels in with one of Gabriel's favorite books. Gabriel's dog comes in and Constance is puzzled when he barks at Adam.
Nick arrives at a cabin. A dog follows him in. Nick ignores a call from Victor.
At The Underground, Noah and Summer continue bickering. Austin suggests they let it go. Noah and Summer hug it out. After, Summer tells Austin she's tired of explanations. He figures that's why she was grateful Jack called Kyle about the paternity news. Summer tells Austin she was in love with Kyle. Austin realizes if Sharon hadn't mess with the lab results, her life would have been different. Summer says being Austin's wife is the greatest thing that ever happened to her. They hug. She looks disturbed.
